Generally, we can rely on Tissot capturing and portraying the scene’s scriptural essence. His consistency in doing so speaks to me of indwelling and inspiration by the Holy Spirit, which argues for his present heavenly address.

Hi, Mary-Lou. Thanks for your Jthread. Reading about the children broke my heart.

I still remember the first time my heart broke: I was five, and we drove past a wino derelict whom my parents discussed. That fracture will never heal, until heaven.

I am sorry you were exposed to that at such an early age. I had a similar experience when I saw a tatoo on a man’s arm and asked him about it. I was about 6.

Children are so precious. I hate to see their hearts broken.

A real irony, because it's not any work at all if it's love.

He's so full of love that anyone should be able to see that he's never worked a day in his life.

(Well then, he's shouldn't be allowed to eat, not ever having worked!) /s, but that's how it goes with he D-I-Y-D, D-I-Y-D crowd.

The other irony here is completely lost on the synagogue ruler: how hard he himself is working at condemning others, on the sabbath.

God hates sin, but He loves sinners, and He cannot help being amused at our fumbling foibles.
